Forget resolutions—find your focus for the year with one powerful word.

Hey Reader,

The new year often brings resolutions—big, shiny goals that promise transformation but sometimes feel more like a set-up for failure.

This year, a team member shared a different approach: choosing a single Word of the Year to help guide her efforts.

No resolutions. No impossible promises. It was her way of accepting her ‘perfect imperfection’ as a part of her Champion Mindset in 2025.

And let me tell you, it resonated with me.

My word came to me in an instant: Acceptance.

2024 wasn’t an easy year for me. Between navigating family illnesses and overcoming challenges in the growth of my business, it was clear that striving for perfection wasn’t the answer.

What carried me through was practicing what I preach - to embrace the imperfections—finding peace in what is, rather than constantly chasing what could be.

Acceptance reminds me to trust the process and silence the inner critic who says I need to have it all figured out. I can guarantee you that, even as an expert in Mindset, I still experience the challenges of not feeling like I'm enough.

Going back to what I coach others on, I remind myself to let go of perfectionism and recognize that progress, not perfection, is what matters.

Moving from Expectation to Acceptance

One of the pillars of the Champion Mindset is understanding how to release the weight of expectations—those “shoulds” that often drive us to burnout—and instead embrace the fullness of the human experience.

When we operate from a place of acceptance, here’s what happens:

  • We start appreciating what we’ve accomplished rather than focusing on what’s left undone.
  • We allow room for mistakes, understanding they’re part of growth.
  • We make space for abundance—realizing that life’s gifts often come in forms we didn’t expect.

By accepting what we can do and honouring that we are perfectly imperfect humans, we uncover our true potential. That’s when our Champion Mindset shines the brightest.

Your Turn: What’s Your Word?

I’d love for you to join me in this simple yet powerful practice. What’s your Word of the Year for 2025?

If you’re ready to join me in letting go of resolutions and focusing on what can bring peace and abundance to your life, here’s how to get started:

  1. Choose your word of the year. Something that resonates with what you want your life to look like in 2025. Write it down on a sticky note.
  2. Place it somewhere you’ll see it every day—on your bathroom mirror, computer screen, or fridge.
  3. Take a moment each day to reflect on how your word can guide your actions and mindset.
  4. I’d love to hear your word and why you chose it. Hit Reply to this email and share it with me—I can’t wait to hear what inspires you this year.

Here’s to starting 2025 with intention, clarity, and acceptance.

To the Champion in YOU!
